How to Set Up Fitra Guard on Your Router
Router setup protects devices while they use your home Wi-Fi. Use the exact guide for your model, enter the household’s two protected DNS addresses, link the home internet and wait for traffic verification.
Use the unique Primary DNS and Secondary DNS shown in Dashboard → Router profile → Device Setup. Router setup does not use a child profile’s DoH address.
Find the verified guide for your router
Use the exact model printed on the back or underside of the main router or mesh unit. The ISP helps support identify provider-managed firmware.
Link and verify the home connection
- 1.Save both DNS addresses using the verified guide for the exact router model.
- 2.Stay connected to home Wi-Fi and temporarily disable any VPN or iCloud Private Relay.
- 3.In the setup flow, tap Link my IP. Linking does not start the trial.
- 4.Open a normal website on home Wi-Fi to generate DNS traffic.
- 5.Wait for Protection verified. This normally takes 1–2 minutes; the checker continues for up to about five minutes.
Protection is confirmed only after Fitra Guard detects protected DNS traffic. Saving router fields alone is not the final verification.
If verification does not complete
- →Confirm the router saved both DNS addresses in the exact fields shown.
- →Reconnect the test device to Wi-Fi and open a new website.
- →Restart the router only if the verified model guide requests it.
- →Check for a VPN, Private Relay, or device-level Private DNS that may bypass the router.
- →Do not factory-reset the router or change PPPoE, VLAN, gateway, DHCP, IP, or MTU settings.
If your provider later changes your public internet address, your saved filters remain intact. Refresh the Home Wi-Fi Link while connected to home Wi-Fi.
