Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 August 2026
1. Information We Collect
We collect your email address, name, and payment information during account creation. We also process DNS queries to provide the filtering service.
2. How We Use Information
Your information is used to provide and improve the filtering service, process payments, and communicate important service updates. DNS query logs (for Complete plan users) are used to provide the Activity Logs feature.
3. Website Storage, Analytics & Advertising
We use storage that is necessary for security, sign-in, saved preferences, and delivery of the service. Optional analytics and marketing technologies remain off until you make a choice in the privacy notice.
- Analytics: Optional analytics helps us understand site use and performance so we can improve the website.
- Marketing: Optional marketing services help us understand campaign attribution, measure performance and manage advertising. When marketing is accepted, we may also store recognised campaign parameters such as UTM values or advertising click identifiers for up to 30 days.
- Necessary: Fitra Guard uses essential storage and processing for authentication, security, preferences and core service operation.
You can accept all, reject non-essential technologies, or choose categories separately. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by selecting Privacy choices in the website footer. Withdrawing a choice stops future optional tracking from that browser.
4. Children’s Privacy & Household Consent
Fitra Guard is a household network management tool designed to be configured by parents or legal guardians. By setting up our service, you consent to the collection and filtering of DNS queries generated by all devices on your network, including those used by minors. We do not intentionally collect personal identification information directly from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data outside of the household network filtering context, please contact us to have it removed.
5. Data Retention
Activity logs are retained for up to 30 days. You can request immediate account deletion from Settings after any required paid-plan cancellation is verified. The process removes your login identity and mapped identifiable household data. A failed request keeps only the information needed to retry or resolve the failure; completed requests retain a de-identified receipt and record counts. Limited de-identified security, operational, and coupon-accounting records may remain, and service providers may retain records required for legal, fraud-prevention, and security purposes.
6. Data Security & Breach Notification
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. All data transmission is encrypted using TLS. In the event of an unauthorized intrusion into our systems that compromises your personal information or activity logs, we will notify you via the email address associated with your account within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, outlining the nature of the data exposed and the steps we are taking to secure it.
7. Service Providers & Data Aggregation
We use contracted service providers for application infrastructure and authentication, DNS filtering, transactional email and payment processing. If you consent to optional categories, analytics and marketing providers may also process website usage and campaign information under their own privacy terms. We remain responsible for selecting and managing the providers used to deliver Fitra Guard.
We do not sell your personal information. We may aggregate and anonymise network query data, removing identifying IP addresses and account information, strictly for statistical analysis to improve filtering categories and network performance.
8. Account Holder Requirements
Fitra Guard accounts may only be created by individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. The account holder (parent or guardian) is solely responsible for the household and devices managed under their account. DNS activity data is associated with network profiles, not with individual persons.
9. Your Privacy Rights & Regulatory Compliance
Depending on your location, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data. Under the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and other applicable laws, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You may also object to the processing of your data or request data portability.
We are registered with the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za). If you have concerns about how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
You can delete your account or download your data from Settings. If you cannot sign in, use our public account-deletion page to request deletion. For other privacy requests, or if deletion is blocked for safety review, contact our support team. We will respond to requests within 30 days.
10. International Processing
Fitra Guard is operated from South Africa and your data may be stored and processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence. By using our service, you consent to this transfer. We take appropriate measures to ensure your data is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws regardless of where it is processed.
